We have found that 10 years old is a good age to start curling.
If you're new to curling, don't worry: we have good coaches and we're all about having fun. With a few months experience, even new curlers can compete in South Okanagan junior bonspiels (tournaments) including our own windup Junior bonspiel.
Curling is an Olympic sport. Beyond our fun league there are opportunities to advance to competitive levels. We had a junior boys team that did well in BC Winter Games and qualified for provincial playdowns.
We provide all the necessary equipment (brooms, grippers, sliders), and a new protective cap or toque free to new curlers.
All you need are clean soft-soled shoes or sneakers, stretchy pants, a warm jacket and gloves.
Curlers are not allowed to curl in the same shoes that they wear to the rink.
Wednesdays - after school from 3:30—5:00 P.M. from mid-October to mid-March (about 20 weeks).
Fees for the 2023-2024 season = $60
Experienced junior curlers may also curl in Summerland adult leagues. Junior members pay half the adult league fees and may spare for free.
